11+, 13+ and SATs
A child who develops advanced writing skills will always be able to communicate their thoughts effectively and with impact. So improving writing skills can lead to improvements in almost every school subject.
11+
Our 11+ classes establish a solid foundation and provide a thorough preparation to pupils.
English work topics are selected to promote improvement in creative writing and comprehension.
- We hand out weekly homework to the children.
- Exam style marking systems are employed for maximum feedback.
- We give regular exam success tips every lesson.
Mock 11+ tests are used. Test experience helps reduce children’s anxiety before the real school entrance tests.
- Tests for English and Reasoning are carried out under exam conditions.
- Mock test papers are used based on past papers from local schools.
- We employ exam style marking systems.
- Marked and scored exam papers are returned to pupils.
- Feedback and test analysis.
SATs
Our SATs classes give the extra push that children need to be succesful.
National Curriculum SATs tests are held in UK schools for year 6 children. The next tests will be during May 2008.
Our SATs classes give children the opportunity to improve their scores in the most important areas that are tested in English. Our programme is aimed at National Curriculum levels 4 and 5.
Our courses feature:
- Exam type questions covering the major components of the English tests.
- Stand alone revision sessions, although pupils may do some supplementary work and all the materials used in the session can be taken home afterwards.
- The teacher explains what the examiners are looking for in particular test questions as well as the marking schemes.
